Natural Conversations

Handle real back-and-forth ordering conversations instead of rigid phone trees

Natural Conversations is the part of DialTask focused on human-like interaction quality: clarifying orders, capturing modifiers, handling changes mid-call, and repeating details back cleanly before submission.

Conversation behaviors

This is distinct from routing. It is about how the AI speaks and repairs the interaction.

Handles item changes during the same call
Asks follow-up questions when modifier info is missing
Repeats the order back before completion
Repairs low-confidence moments instead of failing silently

Example scenario

A guest changes their mind halfway through ordering.

Guest: I want two chicken bowls.
DialTask: Great — any rice choice or extra toppings?
Guest: Actually make one steak instead.
DialTask: Got it. One chicken bowl and one steak bowl. Let me confirm the toppings next.

Truthful constraints

Natural sounding conversation still depends on menu quality and call-flow setup.

Conversation quality improves when the menu is structured and verified.
Complex free-form calls may still need low-confidence fallback rules.
This page focuses on interaction quality, not telephony or POS depth.
